Dried Pressed Flowers- Mother’s Day Card With Dried Pressed Flowers
“God could not be every where so He made Mothers.” Without mothers where would we be. To our mother we owe so much, that a hundred lives more will be too less to repay them. So this Mother’s Day why don’t we make a pressed flower card to show or love and gratitude to our mothers. Though making a pressed flower card may be a small thing, compared to her greatness. But sometimes small things can go a long way. So lets start with making our Mother’s day card with pressed flowers. But before we begin we will be needing some supplies.
- A card board
- A pair of scissors
- Glue
- Colored pens or pencils and
- Beautiful flowers with rich and vibrant colors.
To begin with the card making process, you need to pick flowers that will retain their rich colors. Violets and roses will be perfect. Next, you will have to dry press your flowers. For this purpose get hold of a thick book like a phone directory or a dictionary. Then wrap the flowers you will be pressing with a blotting paper and place them inside the book. Closing the book shut, leave it for two weeks. When the two weeks of drying time is over, open the book and gently peel off the flowers. The next step will be to cut out some part of the cardboard in the shape and size of a normal greeting card. Once the card is ready, cover it nicely with some colored paper that will compliment the color of your flowers. Then you may add flowers to your card. For this apply some glue to the back of the flowers and press it against the front surface of the card. Continue attaching flowers to the card until you get the design you want. When you card is ready with flower leave it for sometime to for the glue to dry. To prevent your flowers from falling off you may cover the card with a sheet of cellophane paper.
Now that your Mother’s day pressed flower card is ready, finish it off with a message for your mother on the inside. For this you can use the colored pens.
